This game, like others, do not show the solution to the slavery of mankind in the beast system that is forming and is already here. Jesus offers freedom from sin and freedom from this evil world. He died on the cross and rose again.... for you. If you call on him, you will receive the spirit that he released from his body at his death.

Some people speculate that Father Grigori in the Ravenholm chapter was an angel sent by God to protect Freeman. Interestingly, the whole area is completely free from the Combine, though it is infested with zombies

I played the game when I was still asleep spiritually, but now that you remind me of that part of the game, I see what you are talking about. Yeah, the armored soldiers were not there but the place was infested with head crabs. It was a dark and creepy environment. If that were an angel, he failed miserably to bring peace. It would be more believable that he was a false prophet and all the zombies were the people that listened to his false teachings, which led them to become infected. A true prophet would have no need of man's weapons, because God fights for him.
