Thank you. But I wouldn't call it "fear-mongering". This shit is already happening. And yes, it's happening in the West, not only in China:

He's also not saying the elites "should get rid of the useless people" and that they will "make them docile with drugs and video games". He's warning about a potential dystopian future that we are already moving towards and that it will be horrible for the majority of people if we don't actively try to solve the problem of professional obsolescence. He even considers the re-discovery of family, intimate communities, and meaningful interpersonal relationships as a potential way out of this dystopian trap.

It's already bad enough that the political and economic elite view us as cattle and want us docile, obedient, and productive. Shooting the messenger will not do us any favors.
