Use cast iron. Like my gramps teached me. You can hear that these skillets e.g. are the real thing.

The teflon and aluminium cookware my queen brought along we threw out a long time ago.

Everything else doesn't even come close in "cooking".

Only thing about these is, you always gotta have some kind of plant-based oil nearby to make them last longer than your life is. Otherwise rust can, but doesn't have to become a problem.
