There was early talk, concerned that Covid, if weaponized, would be encoded to target specific races, nationalities, or groups. The problem is that every time this has been attempted, unexpected consequences have happened. You try to re-productively sterilize a group or demographic, then you accidentally end up with AIDS, for instance. We've seen this happen countless times in scientific attempts to attach sterilizing genetics to common colds, in innovative attempts to control populations of invasive species, such as rodents in Austria, and mosquitoes in Zika areas.
