Swartz was too "good" a soul, i believe. And maybe some decades too early alive in this "sensable" time-dimension.

That is why the gods let him go back so seemingly "early" to where he came from.

They didn't want him to suffer anymore, i suppose. Because the upcoming "fight" with the Epstein-tick-congration may have really darkened his soul.

Sadly not. But regarding the timeline of the story with CondeNast buying Reddit it makes at least some sense to me.

They turned it into the this hellhole that it is today.
