Because He loves with an agape love, not the bs modern society calls love.

he didn’t. i don’t know of a single religious text in which the central deity dies, or is even mortal for that matter.

Why does man reject God and follow the adversary into the ways of the world, sinning against God, and then complain that God does not talk to him? God did not go away. Man distanced himself from God. God is still there and will speak to anyone who will listen.

God is Spirit and cannot die, being eternal, but his Spirit was in the man Jesus, who died on the cross for our sins. If you recognize God in the man Jesus, then you have identified God and now you know who to follow if you want salvation.

It's just a story to tell kids to explain the celestial phenomenon of the sun reaching the lowest point in the sky on December 22nd, where it lays there 'dead' for three days until it appears to 'rise' again on the 25th, resurrected. Personification of the lights in the sky is commonplace in ancient primitive cultures, no idea why people still have this obscure biblical fantasy in their lives. The 'three kings' on Orion's belt follows the north star in the sky. Stories like that can also be seen in other religious symbolism. The 2 fish that fed the 5000 representing the constellation Pisces for example. The Vatican itself depicts the sundial to mark the equinox. It's all just symbolism to worship the sun.
