Marcion caught the Catholic Church red-handed altering the New Testament in the 2nd century

And the church fathers and most "experts" will tell you that Marcion removed material for his New Testament. Yet it contains a bunch of material directly in opposition to his theology, while removing a lot he'd have no reason to object to. Meanwhile the structure of his version is clearly the older and more authentic one, while ours is a sloppy clobber text of interruptions and harmonizations. Apparently the ancients didn't think context matters, making it extremely obvious which version is the one that has been tampered with.

And even Marcion's version is full of obvious alterations and interpolations. He just picked up the oldest revisions he could find and went with it.

Unfortunately the information is spread out all over the place and there's not really anything specific. But if you research Marcion's "cut-out" Evangelion and Apostolikon you can see how in reality it did not remove anything, rather the canonical version added to it. Unfortunately all the copies were burned by the Catholic Church, but we have enough quotations from their lame attempts to discredit his text to get an idea of what it contained.
