You should really considering watching the video. It explains exactly why the US and NATO did, indeed, force Putin's hand.

TL;DW It's a proxy war between US neo-cons and Russia.

Some of the same people who lied us into Iraq are now shilling hard to lie us into a war in Ukraine.

Russia had no plans to invade anyone until the US helped overthrow Ukraine's democratically elected government in 2014, and have been negotiating to stop their government from shelling civilians in the East since that time, but Kyiv's refused.

Foreign policy experts predicted this would be Russia's reaction years ago if the US meddled in Ukraine. But we didn't care, because ultimately, we don't give a shit about Ukrainians or their democracy. One of two things would happen.

Either Ukraine becomes a puppet state for the US, causing it to join NATO, which would force Russia to spend more on national defense, zapping more of their resources for years.

Or Russia invades to remove the US puppet government, kills a lot of Ukrainian troops, which the US can then use as propaganda to rationalize an economic war, as well as funnel in arms and supplies to insurgents to zap Russia's resources for years.

It's win-win for the US. It would be impressive if it weren't so evil.

Nobody but Putin decided to drop bombs on ukraine. Ukraine is a free nation and doesn't have to do anything Russia wants.

Oh, cool. So you support the US withdrawing from Iraq then? Good to hear.

If the Ukrainians voted for that, I'd agree with you. Unfortunately, Ukraine does not have free and fair elections.

That settles the matter. Putin and Russia can go fuck themselves and commie supporters can go die in a ditch.

If you think Russia is still communist, you really should stop reading history books published in 1988. A lot's changed in 30 years, my friend.

If they were commies, Democrats would be embracing them, not demonizing them.

Don't be retarded. It's not and never is about picking sides.
