There may be people motivated by certain ideas. That's as real as it gets.

Until there's any tangible evidence that proves the existence of a particular deity or the non-existence of any of the thousands of less popular deities, you are rehearsing your own religion right here. Is there data that disproves Poseidon & validates Satan?
