Why are they doing it in the first place? Why bother to admit, it would only bring them to further ruin due to normies being able to see through some if not most of the bs now.

Why claim they're opinions, and not facts?

Liability. The legal standards for libel/slander/defamation lawsuits are different, depending on whether something is a "statement of fact" or opinion.

Why call them "fact checks?" Propaganda. Even useful-idiot leftists would have a hard time taking "opinion check" seriously.
