I think understanding how information is manipulated in social media sites is the key to figuring out how powerful people keep their plans in secret. This video is about how huge media sites like Facebook are manipulated.

It's a former Facebook executive talking about the way he and others basically sought to destroy the level of discourse online by turning people into dopamine addicts. I think he starts talking about the subject around the 21 minute mark.

21 minute mark.

22:11 is where he starts that thought, 22:45 is when he says the quote.

Excellent post, and there is so much more to be said on this. Faculty members at newly found 'internet institutes' at various universities are saying this, while also saying that - to combat these problems - we do not use the internet and AI enough. We're instead enjoying the internet echo chambers, rather than seeking online solutions to this online brainwashing. It's a new form of addictive socializing that hasn't developed in this significant manner since the mid-17th century addictions to sugar, tea and coffee, at coffee & tea houses, which are considered the foundations of 'modern' society. The recent social media developments are enveloping us in AI cocoons that are part of a new AI age. Not that the AI is controlling any of it, but that the .01% are using the AI to do this.

I never joined facebook, even when under social pressure on this by my own gf in one of these times.

My main concern was (and still is) that they claim you as behavioral surplus (which makes their investors grin) while only disclosing about 1% what they actually do with your data (since e.g. they claim ownership on every picture you upload to their network).

Truth to be told: I stay correct.

Robber barons no more no less they are and each and every peasant should get his pike up and working.

My old granpa survived this shit once. So why shouldn't I ?

History is a playbook with a plot. And even when history ain't the same no more, the playbook stays.

It is too late now. Skinner's Box mechanism is integrated into every single social media platform available, from Reddit to Twitter to Facebook to Snapchat to Instagram and just about every alternative of those platform. The damage is being done. The only thing we can do now is to find ways to heal the damage and learn how to navigate a polarized world where narcissism is rife and echo chambers abound.

And don't expect women to "wake up" to the way they are being manipulated by those companies ( because of females having higher conscientiousness, they have a higher need to virtue signal and specifically to compete for which girl is virtue signalling the most ) because they won't. Social Media will just leave drag into a downward spiral of competition for which one is either "the most hot" or "the most woke".

You know it, you all have seen it happening.

Why do they insist on calling it mistruth? Back in my day we called that lies.
