one of the prerequisites that must be present in order to have a successful relationship between the counselor and the client is that the client must be willing to recognize those areas in their life that require work and then he or she must be willing to change or do that work that is required to change.

i really do care about you, but i do want for you to understand that if you want to drink yourself to death, i promise you that i will not lose two seconds of sleep over your decision to drink.

if you drink yourself to death, this does not change the quality of my life, but instead it changes the quality of your life.

i really do understand that for a "real alcoholic" to quit drinking, this is omg not an easy thing to do, and i do believe that you are the real mccoy, you are a real real alcoholic.

i really do wish good things for you, but please dont get it in your head that you are going to treat me as tho i am your punching bag or as tho i am your doormat, because i am neither of those things.
