The Zapruder film can only tell us so much,

And that was JFK was shot twice from two different directions just as every witness had told the cops, here at 0:32 the front passenger turns around and Mrs. JFK is seen putting her hands on him as he is holding his chest (been shot) and at 0:39 the head shot from the front just as witness said.
