Your history knowledge is lacking. Jews could be part of the order in ancestry only, even from its incorporation but only if they renounced Judaism and followed the Way; took a vow of poverty and piety, and preached the Gospel.

The late 1590's was the enacting of the Blood purity laws as hundreds of Catholic Jesuits became fed-up with Crypto-Jews taking over the order. These laws lasted a mere 10-15 years. From that time, there were many crypto-Jews that became members of the order, oftentimes, with the goal of delegitimizing and destroying it from within.

Possevino the Jew, blamed “envious and talentless men from poor, rural backgrounds” (168) for the agitation against the conversos, while asserting that “in terms of their virtue and dedication, [conversos] represent an elite within the Society.” (172)

By the late 1950’s, the Crypto-Jews had amassed enough power within the Church to be able to remake it in their image, making it more worldly and cosmopolitan. And they officially began the process on 11 October 1962 by convening the Second Vatican Council.

And can you guess who led the effort in the Council to change the Church’s stance on Jews? It was this Jesuit Cardinal, Augustin Bea (seated, next to his rabbi co-conspirator, Abraham Joshua Heschel).

As for getting the Church “to give up proselytizing Jews,” that would have to wait until the Crypto-Jewish takeover of the Church was fully completed with the installation of the first Marrano pope, Pope Francis, who grew up surrounded by Jews and Brothels.

So it is now the official stance of the Roman Catholic Church that the death of chickens Jews sacrifice to expiate their sins…
