The Sumerians were an extremely advanced society for their time, influencing our knowledge of things to this day. This is a good compilation showing how the old Sumerian Kings can be related to the biblical stories and other legends.

It's a list of the old Sumerian Kings and how they can be related to other myths. IMO, I think the Jews of that time simply created the stories back then depending on what they experienced, I've read a theory saying that the "god" that they worshipped was actually slayed by Enkidu and Gilgamesh.

The three Abrahamic based religions were all master plagiarists. The jews plagiarized pretty much everyone they came into contact with, then the xtians plagiarized them, then the islamaholics plagiarized both....these 'religions' are like patchwork quilts of eclecticism.
