I think reflection is an important aspect to analyze the problems of society. I think a lot of us might appreciate this quote from Pascal talking about such issues.

Pascal thought that a lot of the problems that society faces come from not reflecting about things enough out of a fear of loneliness.

Sitting in a room alone you're forced to deal with the mess in your mind. If you can't escape to something else, you'll be motivated to clean it up. If you an be at peace with yourself, you won't feel so much need to go around meddling with others.
