When it comes to nations like the US, despite the common myth that corruption in the government is something minimal that shouldn't be paid too much attention to, the truth is that most institutions are corrupt to the core and it has been for a long time. I think the quote from Aristotole is a good reminder of what we should do to defend the constitution.

It's Aristotle saying how rulers can corrupt a whole state by the lazyness of the citizens that are part of it.
