By competence.

The group IQ is nearly a whole SD higher that white average. In verbal, it's over 120, and that's the critical bit for social success.

Ingroup solidarity. High IQ counts for nothing if you don't stick together, help each other, marry each other, promote each other, and ruthlessly advance your own interests at the cost of your host society.
