Reminder that WASP stands for wealthy anglo saxon protestant, not white.

Not liking WASP culture or hegemony is no excuse for racial discrimination.

Remember Indymedia? I was on there a long while back and there was an article on there which attempted to retcon the pejorative redneck, as one may have heard expressed in the salons of the left frequently at the time, as a historical reference to a band of radical insurgents from the 18th century, without any intention to give insult whatsoever. And now I've read this.

I'm not saying that it's impossible that the acronym has been expanded that way. I'm sure that version has something like a ten percent market share. It is, after all, impolitic for a white person to say the w-word. But I don't expect it to be among the top twenty entries at UD.

What other races do anglo saxon Protestants come in?

Yes! That shit. As propaganda goes, it's of a sort with conservative proclamations that MLK was a conservative.

It may as easily be suggested that origin of redneck is derived from the Red Shirts.
