Growing up in the tail end of the hippie years I was fully entrenched in these philosophies. I believed that we needed to get rid of the establishment. Not because I understood any of the theories or recognized the struggle of the working class, but rather because it was cool and I wanted to be cool too.

And I am sure that is ther driving reason for almost everyone else of my generation: To be cool.

Looking back it's so obvious and it makes me sick to see the permanent damage that has been done and continues to be done in the name of the new world order. We were the greater fools and now western civilization is at risk of being swallowed up completely. And of course the current individuals pushing the revolution forward are just as deluded as we were -- more so actually because they missed out on the peace love aspect and have only ever known the angry, hate filled face ie the real face of socialism -- and it was us that made them so. And all in the name of being cool. What a fucking waste.
