Yep, I got banned on r/conspiracy for saying this to people a few months ago.

Most "conspiracy researchers" are NPCs too... they want SOMETHING they've said to be true, so they can say "see! I told you so!" and maybe their life won't suck so much, or so they think.

Those motherfuckers are dangerous. They tracked Shia LeBoef's dumbass flag down by triangulating plane contrails and a car horn. The last thing you want is for those guys to be looking into actual conspiracies, so you mislead them with exactly the right sort of puzzle that autists love to solve.
