The Sumerians were an extremely advanced society for their time, influencing our knowledge of things to this day. This is a good compilation showing how the old Sumerian Kings can be related to the biblical stories and other legends.

It's a list of the old Sumerian Kings and how they can be related to other myths. IMO, I think the Jews of that time simply created the stories back then depending on what they experienced, I've read a theory saying that the "god" that they worshipped was actually slayed by Enkidu and Gilgamesh.

Why would they make it up? There's no way you can just take it at face value? Sumerians were assholes, and God drowned their pagan asses for it.

Paganism is just a convenient term used by the Catholic Church to demonize all the things they dislike. Which by the way, they still follow a lot of traditions that can be considered "Pagan" by their own terms. Nimrod's birthday is on December 25th, for example and Nimrod is based on Gilgamesh. That's what people do on Christmas, they celebrate the coming of Christ on Nimrod's birthday. The serpent that eats its own tail. (Actually a metaphor for Gilgamesh's powers of reincarnation)

Catholics are pagans, not Christians. Not even close. Paganism is polytheism/ Roman word vs Greek word. Same thing.

Lots of holidays fall on other days. Some people are born on December 25th. Doesnt mean we worship them on christmas.

Pagan just means someone who lives in the countryside. People who live in the country have an agricultural religion with festivals which take place on important dates in the agricultural calendar. Lots of religions in the northern hemisphere have festivals around the winter solstice because that's an important marker, the days getting warmer and longer. The solstice moves so while now it's on the 21st December in biblical times it was on the 25th or after.

I know, I was just pointing out how the Church has conveniently used the term to crush its opposition.

What I mean is just because the dates are the same doesn't mean one thing came from another. Rather multiple religions celebrated the same dates in the same kind of ways because they had the same seasons. For the winter solstice that's going to be heroes who go to the underworld and return just as the summer goes and returns.
