Nobody should have anything to do with this shit. Spank your kids while they're young and avoid the whole damn thing. It's really that easy.

These places aren't cheap, you don't just send your kid there because you don't want to spank them. My parents had considered it for my brother. He had OCD back when almost nobody knew what that was. I believe that was responsible for making him a violent uncontrollable monster who tore apart our family.

They tried everything, nothing worked. I mean decades of therapy, meds, different approaches, different experts... absolutely nothing worked. Sending him away was a last ditch measure but ultimately they didn't want to spend $60k on a program like that because it's not a secret they're not nice places.

A lot of people were affected by this one aberrant individual, generations of people. And they still are, and will continue to be. I love him, he's my brother, but it would have been better for everyone else if he had an "accident" as a child.

The last time he attacked me, he tried to kill me over a jar of salsa. Broke another damn chair over my back. These aren't normal people. This is most likely a level of behavior you have never witnessed before. It's not normal or common, but those are the kind of kids these places exist for.

You sure? This is what I found at a glance:

The private programs, partially funded with government cash, come out of the pockets of desperate parents. The schools are overwhelmingly based in Utah, with its vast wilderness landscapes fit for rugged outdoor experiences. According to a 2015 study out of the University of Utah, “The Family Choice Behavioral Healthcare Interventions Industry” raked in $328,702,999 in 2015, with most of the cash coming in from out of state.

The Salt Lake Tribune reported that 12,000 kids have collectively been sent to Utah, home to about 100 programs, in the past five years, with each sojourn costing at least $30,000.

no, I got dropped off at one before and I assure you my parents didn't have enough money for anything

check this

“I love that saying, 'There is no such thing as a bad kid.' I

this is where they sent david allen coe lol...

they have places like this all over the country... they are usually told about to parents by phschologits

here is info about florida: http://www.djj.state.fl.us/services/prevention/youthprograms

Have persistently disobeyed the reasonable and lawful demands of the child’s parents or legal custodian, and to be beyond their control.

so if that kid is not doing as you demand you drop em off there...lol Of course kids should probably listen to their parents but this seems a little far...

then they go to these places and get beaten by staff or sexually abused...
