I think the psychological aspects of reality have a huge influence in controlling our perception of the same, that's the reason why the people in the dark cults seek control of the media, Jung was the one who in my opinion studied these psychological archetypes the most.

Synchronicity is a concept of Jung related to the idea of meaningful related events and images to the individual himself, which he later used to develop his idea of the archetypes. Jung thought that by studying these archetypes in dreams one could reach a more complete personality and what he called individuation.

By the "psychological aspects of reality" are you referring to cultural messages/messaging?

What meaning do you think recurring events or images have? Do they provide any information that can be acted on?

Can archetypes be stopped, or do they always play out?

It's more that you notice things which might be relative to your hidden issues.

There are thousands of images and coincidences which you will come across everyday but you only notice the ones which have some relevance to you.

Like the number 23 was used by discordians to prove this point. If you are told the number 23 is of spiritual importance you start seeing it everywhere but that works with every number. My aunt thinks the number 19 is unlucky for her personally so she finds the same effect with that.

What use is it? If you can work out what the coincidences represent then you can deal with them and even slightly predict future behaviour. The obvious example in my life is my sister tends to have dreams people are trying to kill her before they stab her in the back in an office politics sense, but she never takes notice of those dreams so doesn't act in the info. Basically her unconscious has probably worked out from body language clues what's going on in the office but can't communicate that to her conscious mind through words so it has to use symbols.

Ok. Here's my new question: Why does the subconscious mind use the symbols that it does to represent information in dreams? You said that; "There are thousands of images and coincidences which you will come across everyday but you only notice the ones which have some relevance to you." Are the chosen images particular to the individual mind?

Why does the subconscious mind use the symbols that it does to represent information in dreams?

Dreams are used to develop solutions, not to communicate them. They only become a tool for communication when we're deeply in denial. With a perfectly healthy mind, we just magically know the solution.

Are the chosen images particular to the individual mind?

The job of the mind is to search for what we love or fear. Since people love and fear different things, things their mind monitors differ too.

Can archetypes be stopped, or do they always play out?

The legendary let it go technique, but good luck actually using it for anything deep.
