This guy seems smart, and he is an absolute amazing story teller. Suspension of habeas corpus over something as small as some refugees at the border would be insane.

At the same time Trump says a lot of things, and follows through on about none of it, so I wouldn't let it keep you up at night.

Hope you're right.

The suspension of habeas corpus has already been happening in previous administrations.

From The Intercept - Commander-In-Chief Donald Trump Will Have Terrifying Powers. Thanks, Obama:

After the Supreme Court ruled under Bush that Guantanamo detainees have rights under habeas corpus, the Obama administration in 2009 fought to avoid having the same rule applied to military prisons around the world.

Obama and Habeas Corpus -- Then and Now

By reading the last article, it is readily apparent that President Obama's actions did not match candidate or senator Obama's rhetoric. This, to me, is an example of how the Obama administration was a continuation of the Bush administration.

I believe that habeas corpus is a foundational principal of our rule of law and absolutely should be upheld no matter where the detainee is.
