You know what's amazing? During the summer 2001, I was looking at maps of NYC with radioactivity indicators. There was a spike. I researched the location and found... The Israeli embassy. My thought was that somebody was going to blow up the embassy with a dirty bomb and claim it as a terrorist act. I wasn't far off the mark, but I didn't know much about suitcase nukes back then.

I don't believe all the 9/11 stuff but the wrong question is being asked. Pretty much anyone could smuggle explosives into a busy office block in the middle of a busy city. I used to work for an Arab royal family and they would smuggle both explosive materials and radioactive materials (usually labelled "medical equipment") all over the world and quite happily would store this stuff in their offices, their residential properties or even in the mansion basement next to the kids' ball pit. When you have billions and diplomatic immunity (and not too many brains) you don't worry about such things.

" Pretty much anyone could smuggle explosives into a busy office block in the middle of a busy city. "

Not even close.

You'd need TONNES of explosive to make a serious impact and you'd need to strategically place it throughout the entirety of the building. For that you need serious access.

It was not a one-day job.

However, I agree, smuggling is not difficult if you know the ropes and the pitfalls.

Most likely WTC 1 and 2, nano thermate explosive was sprayed on or rolled on to all the beams with fire proofing shutdowns and all the floors through replacing the floors. WTC 7 was likely wired up for demolition during construction for the purpose of self detonation in the case an enemy would take it over.
