Hardly anybody in this country caught it in January and February. And the test is a nose swab that uses PCR to detect viral shedding. They're not confusing non-contagious people with leftover antibodies with infections. Furthermore the death rate is far higher than the flu, the CFR being about 5% on average which the death distribution way skewed towards the old of course. The flu doesn't do that.

that uses PCR to detect viral shedding Not related to covid.

Viral overload based purely on your immune system's response level, not a chemical test to detect the specific virus, covid.

There are over 40 different strains of the cold/flu in circulation.
