The amount of people naive to this fact is very disheartening

This is terribly misleading.

What we spend on Israel is about in line with what we spend in areas with a lot of potential conflict where we have self-interest. For example, during the Cold War, we spend 10 times that on Europe protecting them from the threat of a potential Soviet invasion that never happened.

"According to the International Institute for Strategic Studies, the United States spends roughly $36 billion annually on military capabilities in Europe, almost 10 times its annual assistance package to Israel.

Also, the Israelis have been pretty good about handling local conflicts mostly on their own (albeit with our support), without getting US troops killed fighting for them. "No American blood was expended to save Israel when a coalition of Arab armies attacked it in 1948. Indeed, not a single American soldier has ever died defending Israel, something that cannot be said about many of our allies"

Contrast that with the US's commitment to NATO Europe or Taiwan, where, if Russia or China respectfully were to attack, US troops would have to die defending them. We have no similar commitment to Israel, whose soldiers and civilians are routinely attacked and killed.

Also, of that $4 billion (more like $3.8 but whatever), most of that if is given on condition that it be spent buying products and military hardware from the US. So ok, maybe that's some pork to the defense lobby, but it's not like all that money's going to some hole in the ground. It's coming right back to the US where it's supporting a shit ton of jobs.

"Unlike U.S. aid to Israel, most of which is funneled back to the American defense sector, U.S. defense spending toward its forward-operating presence in Europe and Asia is composed of hundreds of thousands of “boots on the ground,” soldiers whose lives would be at stake in any scenario involving an attack on treaty allies. And these allies lie under our nuclear umbrella, meaning that conflicts on either continent could theoretically ensnare the United States in nuclear war."

Israel's population is also about 2% that of the US, making it far smaller than most US states. What works for a small culturally homogeneous monolithic country like Israel won't necessarily work for a massive federalist country like the US.

However, if states want to institute "universal healthcare & government-subsidized colleges & universities", they can. Nothing's legally stopping them. In fact, most do, at least with schools. Virtually every state has government subsidized universities. I should know. I went to one. I paid $30k for a four year degree. A bargain then, and even moreso by modern standards. Some states have tried doing the same with hospitals, with less success. Contrary to the claims of universal healthcare advocates, the current system is liked by the vast majority of people.

That's a nice way of describing an Apartheid state..

34 men from USS Liberty and hundreds wounded would beg to differ...

And btw , US troops dying in Syria, Iraq, Lybia and soon Iran will all be remembered as soldiers protecting Semite interests in ME

Israel is an Apartheid state? Didn't realize that. We probably need to tell the minority Muslim citizens of Israel who have full voting rights (unlike virtually every other country in the middle east) that they're being oppressed...

34 men from USS Liberty and hundreds wounded would beg to differ...

I knew some troll would mention something like this. "US soldiers died in the middle east somewhere at sometime for some reason, therefore they died defending Israel". No, they didn't. Yes, that was a tragic accident, and the direct fault of Israel, but that's it, and could have well happened if we were giving Israel zero support. Those kinds of accidents happen during war all the time, even when we're not the direct participants.

A similar accident occurred during the Iraq-Iran war, when an Iraqi war plane fired missiles at a US navy ship, mistaking it for an Iranian vessel at long range, killing dozens of US sailors.

The "fog of war" is a real thing.

And btw , US troops dying in Syria, Iraq, Lybia and soon Iran will all be remembered as soldiers protecting Semite interests in ME

None of those things are solely "Semite interests". With Libya especially, thanks to Obama, the neighborhood is now more dangerous for Israel and everyone else nearby, as it's now even more overrun with Muslim terrorists. And no country in the middle east, aside from Iran, wants to see Iran with nuclear arms. That's a key reason why the Saudis, Jordan and Egypt have all made peace with Israel and the US, out of fear of Iran.

You're the troll here buddy. I could now start piling up articles and videos of IDF breaking every UN convention under the sun. Doing things to Palestinian people that even in the height of South Africa's apartheid weren't done to "blackies". But fortunately I don't have the time nor care to do so because Palestinians to an extent brought this devils tribe wrath upon themselves...

USS Liberty, the smallhats very well knew was an American ship, it was no rocket or missile but a prolonged attack...you claiming otherwise is simply a propagandist lie.

There isn't a greater threat to western culture and prosperity than the rot eating us from the inside. So has been for thousands of years now. Nothing has changed.

I could now start piling up articles and videos of IDF breaking every UN convention under the sun.

UN conventions defined by who? Russia? China? Venezuela? Conventions the US opposes? Conventions the Palestinians break far more often and never received criticism for? Cry me a river. Since when did anyone give a shit what the UN thinks?

USS Liberty, the smallhats very well knew was an American ship, it was no rocket or missile but a prolonged attack...you claiming otherwise is simply a propagandist lie.

For what reason? In your view, the "evil devil's tribe" are going to bite the hand that feeds them? You're just another asshat trying to justify your nonsensical Jew hatred. Israel is the only country in the middle east with a Western style culture. For that reason alone we should support from against the barbarians at the gate.

[–]kokolokoNightcrawler 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Conventions on human rights, the rights to not be molested, tortured, murdered and so on, demon.

For what reason? In your view, the "evil devil's tribe" are going to bite the hand that feeds them?

It was a failed false flag just like for example another false flag called the Lavon Affair which Israelis admitted to, officially. Google Lavon Affair, goyim! Or perhaps you're one of the chosen tribe, in that case prepare yourself as best as you can for fires of hell.

nonsensical Jew hatred

barbarians at the gate

Ignoring the fact that you are displaying a strong Muslim hate, bigot. Islam is currently the only opposing force to a jewish(communist) takeover...What ever you might think, demon, Western culture was not built upon transgenderism, homosexuality, sex trafficking and a myriad of other sins practiced in the land of smallhats, exported to US by the Hollyweird.

You mean like being children being stabbed to death in their bed? Still waiting for the "UN human rights commission" (which is chaired by such lovely defenders of human rights as Russia and China) to decry that one. I'll hold my breath.

It was a failed false flag

I don't think you know what a false flag is. Those only work when the attacked are tricked into thinking the attacker was someone else. We knew exactly who attacked us from the beginning. You hate Jews, but you also think they're perfect in all ways and never make mistakes? I hate to break it to you, but they're human and like everyone, they fuck up.

Ignoring the fact that you are displaying a strong Muslim hate, bigot.

Lol, where did I mention Muslims? You read "barbarian" and assumed I meant Muslims? Now who's the bigot. You just played yourself you racist troll.

We're done here. Fuck off back to Voat you Nazi scumbag.

Literally every country bordering Apartheid state of Israel is Muslim lol, you negative IQ demon. Who were you referring to when you said barbarians, you pussy. Boy you're sure a lost noob. here the goyim know and you're either gonna get redpilled or fuck off soon enough. But I presume you're of the chosen tribe, just based on your sneakiness and evident attempts at lying. Such a revolting fucking redditor Marxist, you disgust me.

Btw, i don't hate the chosen tribe, as a Christian I hate the sin, not the sinners.

Israel is one of the few countries that we should continue to fund. Having a relatively stable democratic ally in the Middle East is enormously valuable.

The vast majority of other foreign aid should of course be eliminated.

Since 1985, the United States has provided nearly US$3 billion in grants annually to Israel, with Israel being the largest annual recipient of American aid from 1976 to 2004 and the largest cumulative recipient of aid ($142.3 billion, not inflation-adjusted) since World War II.

More recently, in fiscal year 2019, the US provided $3.8 billion in foreign military aid to Israel. Israel also benefits from about $8 billion of loan guarantees. Almost all US aid to Israel is now in the form of military assistance, while in the past it also received significant economic assistance. Strong congressional support for Israel has resulted in Israel receiving benefits not available to other countries.

Healthcare in Israel is universal and participation in a medical insurance plan is compulsory. All Israeli residents are entitled to basic health care as a fundamental right. The Israeli healthcare system is based on the National Health Insurance Law of 1995, which mandates all citizens resident in the country to join one of four official health insurance organizations, known as Kupat Holim (קופת חולים - "Sick Funds") which are run as not-for-profit organizations and are prohibited by law from denying any Israeli resident membership. Israelis can increase their medical coverage and improve their options by purchasing private health insurance.
