Yes. The important conflict is between authoritarians and libertarians. Most of the mainstream "left" and "right" just represent different flavors of authoritarianism, because the current zeitgeist assumes that government should take control of the people in some way.

So what if one neighbor has a hippie farm commune and the other has a small factory? Both scenarios are fine with me, as long as neither one tries to prevent me from doing what I want in my own space. Left and right libertarians can coexist.

Both the authoritarian left and the authoritarian right want to limit how I live my life. I'm not OK with either proposition.
