Well, the CIA and the US have been involved in a lot of operations before involving drugs so this is a good historical record.

The Taliban had almost entirely shut down poppy production in Afghanistan but after the US invaded, Afghanistan now produces 90% of the heroin in the world.

Including hiding bags of heroin inside the dead bodies of US GIs being shipped from S. Vietnam to stateside. That way they got a little more use out of 58,000 dead GIs. That's documented. I wonder what ghoul at the Catholics In Action thought that one up.

Yep, our tax dollars pay for US troops to guard opium grows and even to procure (sometimes underage) prostitutes for the afgan army.

Time for military tribunals. Kavanaugh is in place. Gitmo has been expanded and upgraded for wheelchair users. Can't wait!

US agencies had a long-range plan for this. Opium and heroin production has been shutting down in Thailand starting from 30+ years ago. With little competition, Afghan brown is king in Asia, and I expect Europe too. Smooth move USA.

Where does the money go? Funding Al Qaeda / Al Nursra / ISIS? The drugs certainly have the effect of hampering communities from growth and threat. I do not think that the "terrorists" motivation is religious fundamentalism but rather trying to make a buck.
