Yes. As conspiracy goes mainstream, we've got to keep the quality up or we'll be diluted and lost in the low effort facebook conspiracy meme crowd. Short with references is the way, agreed.

They will shut the community down if it isn't muddied. Bringing normies to it means you get what reddit conspiracy is getting right now. https://www.thedailybeast.com/inside-the-q-group-the-directorate-hunting-down-edward-snowden Q group is apparently hunting people like Edward snow. Q, where have I heard that before?

Just like my quarantine. edit: I'm an overpopulation beiver so I reduced energy for years, turns out it saves massive money. The reason we have so much pollution is we have too many people trying to do the same shit that pollutes.

Chipit, this is great advice. Thank you for taking the time to write this up.

Concerning the credibly of /u/chipit; here's a quote of his from 3 days ago.

https://saidit.net/s/news/comments/3wei/25_years_after_oklahoma_city_bombing_anxiety/

You'll notice that they never, ever mention that the bombing happened on the exact same date as the FBI massacre at the Branch Davidian compound.

It was revenge for that, pure and simple. We can't have anyone knowing that - the story is that one day, for no reason at all, someone bombed a federal building.

He claims the Waco Branch Dravidians blew up the building in an act of revenge.

Also, the events happened on different days...

Where are the reference(s)? /s

[–]FormosaOolong 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Welp, they've posted something useful here, so I'm happy to acknowledge that. We will never have 100% data concordance with anyone.

No, Chipit is correct. You're the one who is wrong.

I just checked and both events occurred on April 19th, like he said. A reason for the Oklahoma City bombing was an act of revenge for the Waco incident.

[–]Tom_Bombadil 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (6 children)

Do you have any sources of evidence to back this "revenge" claim?

[–]DffrntDrmmr 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

First, admit you were wrong and Chipit was right about the dates.

[–]Chipit[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

When bombings happen on the same day as a government atrocity, it's not a coincidence. This technique is used the world 'round to send a message.

[–]Tom_Bombadil 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

You make this claim without any actual evidence? Literally, no evidence.

You have concocted the ultimate coincidence theory.

[–]Chipit[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Sigh...you know, I could spend the next half hour scouring for terrorist attacks that happened on specific dates for a specific reason...there's a long history of it...but I have so little respect for you that I won't. I think I'll do something more valuable with my time, like pick my toenails or stare at the ceiling.

[–]Tom_Bombadil 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

This is comedy.

We both know you got nothing.

[–]Chipit[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (11 children)

Wow, way to make things up. Is that how your mind works?

I said the two events occurred on the same day. Which they did, two years apart. You then added that I said a Branch Davidian did it. How do you not see yourself doing this?

It wasn't coincidence. It was an act of revenge on the federal government for an act of mass murder.

[–]Tom_Bombadil 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

Provide references. Do not tell people to "Google it."

These are your words OP. Let's see the proof.

[–]Chipit[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

I did not say "Google it."

How is it that you keep making up things that I didn't say, and using what you made up to "prove" that I'm lying? You keep doing this.

I said I don't care enough to spend a half hour researching.

[–]Tom_Bombadil 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I did not say "Google it."

OP. I'm quoting you in your (this) post.

They are the first two sentences in the second paragraph.

Provide references. Do not tell people to "Google it."

[–]Chipit[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Show me where I said "google it". Provide citations.

[–]Tom_Bombadil 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I directly quoted your very own submission statement. They're your exact words.

[–]Tom_Bombadil 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

Who are you suggesting is responsible for the bomb(s)?

[–]Chipit[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Are you going to completely fail to acknowledge that you made up something I didn't say, and accused me of saying it? And used that as "proof" I'm unreliable? How do you not have the self-awareness to realize that you're doing this?

Are you going to completely fail to acknowledge that the FBI burned the Branch Davidians to death on April 19, 1993 and then two years later to the day the bomb went off? You think that date was a coincidence? It was not.

We all know who did the bombing. That's not the point here.

[–]Tom_Bombadil 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

Provide references. Do not tell people to "Google it."

We all know who did the bombing. That's not the point here.

Really? You create a post about providing evidence, and then refuse to post evidence? This is exactly the sort of nonsense that we expect from you, which is why i'm calling you out.

Prove it it was revenge from the Waco attack.

[–]Chipit[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

IT WAS ON THE SAME FUCKING DAY TWO YEARS LATER

Jesus, what do you want, a signed note from Terry Nichols? I'm not doing that. I just don't care enough.

[–]Tom_Bombadil 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Are events on the same calendar day proof of a relationship? Is that sufficient evidence to you?

What relationship does Nichols have to your theory?

Provide references. Do not tell people to "Google it."

This is your theory, not mine. Will/can you provide references that prove events occurring on the same calendar date are always related?

Chipit is a alternate account from the same person as Snow.

He has some private conspiracy theory of his own that I'm some other user who didn't even speak English well. And that somehow I morphed into a wisecracking, culturally aware, native speaking person. You'll notice that he just makes shit up and then criticizes for the shit he made up.

I don't know how he doesn't observe himself in the process of doing it, but he doesn't. He's blind to it. When he gets called on it he just moves the goalposts to another question.

[–]FormosaOolong 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I don't know about any of that. I appreciate so much of his content, and yours.

People will never have any kind of civil discourse finding fault with each other and publicly shaming/accusing.

If a colorblind man walks in a room and says it’s gray, but another who sees like what ye might call a “normal” man says the rooms blue- who’s telling the truth?

[–]DffrntDrmmr 1 insightful - 3 fun1 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 3 fun -  (3 children)

I've spent my whole life trying to discern what's real, so to me, the whole "I see conspiracies" mindset is whack.

None of the 'conspiracies' you get excited about are real. The world doesn't work that way. For one thing, you give humans way too much credit for concocting these schemes, coordinating with others, carrying them out successfully, and keeping their mouths shut afterward. If only humans were that capable!

[–]Chipit[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

It's not a "council of evil" with meetings in deserted castles during a thunderstorm. But it is a hivemind. Sort of like the Linux kernel or open source in general. People know what to do without being told.

Hey, did you know the CIA dosed people with LSD in an attempt to control their minds? Crazy conspiracy theory, right? Guess what, it actually happened. Know who came up with the term conspiracy theory to get people to laugh at the truth? The CIA. Yup, it happened!

Did you know the NSA committed multiple extremely serious felonies by breaking laws meant to keep us safe from them spying on us? It happened, we have proof. Everyone but one person were capable enough to keep their mouths shut about it.

How about the CNN debate moderator leaking the debate questions to the Democrats? That happened too. Everyone kept quiet about it.

[–]DffrntDrmmr 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Those weren't conspiracy theories, but were situations learned after the fact. it's normal to not advertise everything being done, and of course, intelligence services operate clandestinely.

But the many conspiracy theories discussed on the Internet are not true.

[–]Chipit[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

They were totally conspiracy theories...until they were proved true. Who knew thousands of people could keep quiet about the NSA spying on us, in violation of law passed by Congress? There were people on the internet saying we were being spied on for decades, and they were dismissed as crazies. Because thousands of people would have to be involved, nobody can coordinate an operation that big, etc.

Did you know that intelligence agencies participate in discussions like this? They do what you're doing, pooh pooh ideas. They also add easily debunked lies to true ideas and propogate them, making people doubt the truth. We know this for a fact.
