Not wanting to distract from the dumbing down of modern schooling, but the environment might also be damaging kids more that it used to.

In the US in the 60s they had "new math" where they tried to completely re-work the math teaching system in order to beat the soviets. It was a huge failure and there's a whole generation that is exceptionally bad at math because of it. Common core seems like a modern echo of the same idea.

At some point you learn the schooling system is based around the Prussian Schooling System design, which was created to instill obedience after Prussia lost the Battle of Jena in 1806 because of poor obedience. It was simply re-tooled for the industrial age, to create obedient workers instead of obedient soldiers. Actually learning things other than just discipline is almost happenstance.

"It was a huge failure" at communicating math skills, but if that was never the point, maybe it succeeded...

I agree that it is all about ease of management, so obedience is point #1, although there are others, such as homogeneity/conformity -- i.e. to "school" kids to adopt a group identity. https://www.unwelcomeguests.net/540_-_Outing_School_3_(Teaching_for_Money_v._Learning_for_Love) for more on this.

Parents didnt send their kids to school with the intention that their children would end up dumber than they are.

the american education system was much more difficult, and students performed much better, in the past. always funny when dumb fags try to insult ppl from hundreds of years ago and can't do the same level of math that 14 year olds used to
