One of the main arguments that people who defend the use of GMO from companies like Monsanto use is the lack of scientific evidence to defend the fact that its products could in fact, be harmful to its users, so I think this is a good historical background of the pressure the researchers have to face.

After Emma published her article about how the GMO crops could be harmful to some extend, she suffered a huge backlash from other scientists. That didn't stop her thought.
