Has anyone else started to wonder about the severity of impact of radiation?

I suspect that ingesting the heavy metals is the real issue, because heavier elements can absorb more higher energy radiation.
This includes cosmic rays, etc., which normally would pass right through ones body.

This may make this problem even more serious than the perceived radiation threat.
