Patton on WW2: 'We backed the wrong side". Soon after he was murdered, and the government covered it up. Bill O'Reilly wrote a very good book about it.

Or you know, all sides are controlled by authoritarian a-holes.

this quotes him as saying:

"We promised the Europeans freedom. It would be worse than dishonorable not to see that they have it. This might mean war with the Russians, but what of it? They have no air force, and their gasoline and ammunition supplies are low. I’ve seen their miserable supply trains; mostly wagons drawn by beaten up old horses or oxen. I’ll say this; the Third Army alone and with damned few casualties, could lick what is left of the Russians in six weeks. You mark my words. Don’t ever forget them. Someday we will have to fight them and it will take six years and cost us six million lives. [As quoted in the book “The Unknown Patton” (1983) by Charles M. Province, p. 100]"

i don't know patton ol boy, I think war with russia would have between costly and they knew it. So we had a cold war instead, a few proxy wars but not millions dead, finally thru sabotage we outspent em till 1991 and they collapsed now years later some try to revive the cold war but they're mostly allies. Maybe killing patton was good.

"Post-War" Uh yeah that war wasn't over and was left undone and the commies were let off the hook. Great tragedy

Well, presently, they're statist, sometimes fascist, and always authoritarian neoliberals and neocons (neoTrotskyites). The overt, "lets starve everyone and collectivize the land and dissolve property," is not really a thing today. Communism, such as Bolshevism, Maoism and Stalinism, excluding neotrotskyism, which is held in high regard by many of the neoconservatives is a thing of the past.

There are other covert means to control a society. Erasing private property, will instead, be imposed coverty via the devaluing of currency, increase in property tax and in all tax for that matter as well as ever increasing licensures and trivial, petty laws.

The goal is to keep wages low enough or stagnant enough whilst the currency continues to devalue just slow enough to control a society into bondage and debt, whilst not imploding to cause chaos.

To be honest the US is corportocracy fueled through crony-capitalism, not true free market capitalism, but by monopolization, oligopolies and price fixing/market capture.
