Funny but I think it's staged. Why would the thief stick the phone against his skin like that besides that if he didn't, he wouldn't have been shocked.

Definitely suspicious, especially the way he spills his drink on his laptop, which looks to be not on to begin with. But then again he could be hiding it in his junk drawer in case someone comes by and checks his pockets.
