It's so well-written, and I'm glad to see someone writing about this important state of affairs.

On the other hand, it's very dark (with good reason) and does make some sweeping statements that are really unproven, like

"While the young are the historical igniters of social change, today’s de-idealized youth are the most conventional and conformist generation in history – with most being huddled around the same dead zone of market-driven values, commercialized meanings, and digital distractions."

I see a whole lot of really concerned, activated young people who are pushing back against the impossible corner they've been squeezed into by this crummy system.

I personally refuse to surrender hope, because that is the way hope is lost--when you surrender it to the would-be murderers of conscience.
