Original self post text, because I don't trust Reddit to still exist while declining so sharply:

Please if you can donate to redcross.org/local/nebraska. Most of the ares being effected are small rural cities and low income areas with no way to recover from this on their own. People in the flyover states believe that no one on the coasts really care about us, so its heartbreaking to see most of the state being effected by this and no one is noticing. My home town of Fremont is currently an island with no way to enter or leave and multiple others cities are having the same problems.

Edit: Donate here (www.unitedwaymidlands.org/floodrelief) to the United Way instead, Red Cross has apparently been not great with donations in the past

do you think trump should send in national guard for aid, or what should happen. Not cool if a crisis gets ignored just like it wasn't cool new orleans got screwed over from katrina, yeah my taxes might go up to help people but this is the kind of emergency thing it should be used for, along with the military and roads and bridges
