Social structures are breaking down all over the (western) world, You sound like a lucky person to get care from my information about the USA.

Even here in Europe only the extreme breakdowns get a follow up (aka something in public regarding other innocent people). If you keep it small/quiet enough it may take decades before someone/something steps in.

My experience with being taken up is in all regards 'meh'. I knew I wasn't doing well and cooperated, but then it turned out to be 'nothing' while by take in I was 'psychotic' according to the people who took me in. The follow up was a few hour long sessions about cannabis misuse (because I said I do that sometimes, though at the time I hadn't done it in months).

Personal guidance is nice and I can see (from my take in and seeing other patients) needed. But letting me go after 2 days and those follow up talks weren't the things that changed it. It was a sibling (studying medicine) who went 'hey ho, you are psychotic only too smart to express it' to get me to my barrings and settle down a bit.

Lack of structure, goals and everything society portrays to be the driving force of life makes people go 'crazy'. When you don't conform and can't understand to conform the 'standard' procedures don't do/help much.

It was Alan Watts, gnostic literature (Philip K dick) and some mindfulness meditation practice that got me 'back on track'. Though I understand that's something personal... ehm, the obedience system I experienced is easily conformed to while 'undercover' not conforming to.

It's not hard, but getting there is, again, a personal journey and no system can work for all people.

Cheers on you (not alcoholic cheers, but just cheers)! Hope you stay on Your track!

I regret to inform you that the mental hospital actually made my problems much worse, not better. It combined everything which made me want to kill myself, didn't give me any counseling, and even didn't give me my antidepresants!
