Want to drop AT&T cell service? Not so fast so you do not make same mistake I did.

Long story made short. I posted here what new cell carrier to go to and was advised of Patriot Mobile. Checked them out and all seemed fine. I signed up for service, they sent me greeting pack and SIM card and that's when SHTF. AT&T did in fact release my number for swap but 100% would NOT release my phone until final billing paid AFTER the next billing date. Yesterday I wound up with dead phone from both Patriot and AT&T so look before you leap. I asked nicely for AT&T to take me back and a few hours of trouble later my phone back on.

I've tracked 14 hours on the phone with AT&T dealing with one several hundred dollar charge, which they couldn't tell me what it was for. I started that conversation, when trying to add a line and ended it switching services...

They are all scam garbage.

I’ve heard those ads on talk radio and I’ve been suspicious due to getting fucked like this once before way back when cell phones first came out. Besides, I’m not down with anyone using the term “patriot” or “American” in their branding. I’ve had AT&T for over 20 years and it just works so I stick with it.
