They seem fine with having echo chambers of whatever popular opinion there is and if your new your under heavy scrutiny where you have to really watch yourself to not walk on invisible egg shells. It's pretty easy to get infractions and shit for spitting on the sidewalk or other minor violations that otherwise would be a fee AND maybe a point on your license (which is usually reserved for serious traffic violations). On forums you are treated like a hard core felon from day 1 and I secretly believe that your reputation follows you if you post to a new but related forum I think admins give lists of who is banned to keep you on a 'tag list'.
