Can we buy our way back?
submitted 3 years ago by nolivesmatter from self.censorship
A thought occurred to me tonight. Is it possible for someone or a group to buy enough shares of twitter, facebook, google, etc. to own a controlling interest? If so we could open them back up again.

LMAO NO, these assholes control the flow of money. Why the fuck are people willing to play the same game these people played to get power?
Boycott them and don't use their shit. They are parasites, they will not last long without us holding them up. We don't need Facebook, Google, or the Left or Right.

How many billion dollars do you need to buy 51% of Twitter? I can contribute four dollars if it helps.

You won't get my two cents.

Twitter has 5,200,000,000 shares of capital stock, sold at $53.26 per share — and this can change quickly.
In order to buy more than half (2,600,000,001) shares: you would need $138.48B. For scale: this is approximately fifty-six Donald Trumps, or five percent of the federal deficit for 2020 (rounding up). Keep in mind: Twitter doesn't pay dividends, so you wouldn't be making any of this money back.
This is assuming investors are actually willing to sell — and they probably won't be if you only pay market price. Ideologues like Jack Dorsey will probably never sell, preferring to grip onto power like a Middle Eastern dictator.

You can try but you would fail.
They recently just created trillions and gave it to their friends. (((THEY))) control the creation of money, the Federal Reserve, the banks, the internet, the media, the infrastructure, the production, the food, the black markets, etc.
You may buy what they let you buy. You can never buy control.
Better to build decentralized alternative platforms, support open transparent uncensored authentic voices of the masses, influence as much as you can, and build up mass power rather than central control.

It's possible, but it's not going to happen.

The thing is that by buying their shares you also support them financially. Isn't it better to support something new instead?
