I have a theory as to what's going on here. I think (based on family who put these beliefs at the center of their politics) the elite truly believe the end of the world is coming because of "climate change". They are genuinely afraid. Fear is a terrible state of mind from which to make decisions. Yet those who actually wield the levers of control have found themselves unable to spread their fear to the majority of the population. But - in their minds - the threat is real! So something must be done! They realize that even all the Elon Musk marketed electric BS is in truth useless to the task of limiting carbon emissions. Hmmm... how do we stop carbon emissions? To do this would require the stoppage of industrial production. Hey?! Covid! That'll do the trick. A full-spectrum industrial halt. Magic.

Meanwhile, the Chinese (who clearly have a lot of influence now) stoke these ideas happily, watching their nemesis committing suicide in the name of this fear. They love this shit.

Long-term goal: the global left doesn't believe the United States as a separate entity should exist. Our local power-base (the US government) should instead be limited to the point of elimination by their preferred "global decision makers". They're quite explicit about this.

I don't think anyone with an IQ above midwit actually thinks climate change is going to end the world.

Fuck with weather patterns and the ecosystem a bit, sure, but the Gretta level fear of extinction's just vapid white women and teenagers.

I think it exposes something greater though. I agree that these people don't believe that the world is going to end, but it shows that these people are willing to lie to get to their objectives. If lying is going to save the earth 2 years faster than being honest than it's well worth it to them.

People who are entirely goal-focused (as many progressives are) are super dangerous.

But how long covid can last, at most? 2 years, 5 years? Then things go back to normal, inevitably. Sounds like quite a hassle for little to no result.

That's silly. At the macro level this is the same colonial type system that has always been going on. More specifically its the social engineering variety that has been developed by the Rothschilds, Rhodes and such and often gets called things like "communism" or "fascism". It went underground to a good deal thanks to the influence of America's revolutionary wars and others but its the same power struggle. Mostly what we're seeing here is an effort to bring the freedom loving people under control and convince most others that despite all the evidence it was a bad idea and wasn't what they wanted anyway.

All these things have been going on way before even the great global cooling scare in the 70's that was orchestrated by the same people.

The elites have for decades been storing seeds in caves in Norway to preserve a food source should something REALLY bad happen. How scared are they? That said it's not a bad idea. It also protects against failed GMO.
