The hilarity is that Weinstein was as far left as any of them, and now he's being called a nazi and censored just like everyone else.

They eat their own until only the most radical and degenerate remain.

Update: If you are an adult and still using social media grow the f’ up. It is paralyzing your growth as an individual

This is social media and you're here.

I'm not OP but I do think there is a difference between anonymous social media, which is more about conveying information, vs real-name social media, which tends to be more about ego and image-boosting

I agree.

This is not social media. You have no idea who I am, this is not Facebook. This is not Instagram, no photos of users. Twitter? No, this is a platform for debate and exchange of ideas in the liberty of anonymity

There is often still brand maintenance, which carries with it some of the scourge of places like FB and IG, but nowhere near as much. I will admit to doing a bit of that (more on Reddit than here). The fact that the level is much lower here, due to the factors you mention, makes this place more comfortable to hang out.

Saidit is better than Reddit in that you can't really get downvoted into oblivion, and ths removes a lot of the risk associated with communicating unpopular opinions. Still, I will self-censor sometimes just to maintain (largely imaginary) relationships.

Self-censor or merely regulate or discriminate in choosing words with care

Mostly the latter but sometimes the former.

That's just human nature, part of how we behave "socially".
