This should surprise no one: Government is prohibited from doing the kind of thought-shaping, gatekeeping and other cancel-culture activities that 'private companies' can do.

Also, DHS, DoJ & NSA are reaping a bonanza of data from DARPAGoogle, FaCIAbook, and Twitter. Note how handy it was for law-enforcement to obtain Tweets and Facebook posts made by 'protesters'.

On balance, government gets so much utility from the 'social-media' that the current "Anti-Trust" theater is highly unlikely to do much actual damage to the corporations.
