because they're insecure children who never learned how to behave like adults and accept that just because someone disagrees with you that it's not the end of the world.

Reminds me of something I heard, complaints that lgbt is used as an excuse for a personality. Something ain't right if your entire identity is just your sexuality.

    [–][deleted] 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yes! I hate it so much: that people substitute personality traits with their sexuality or gender identity. I assume this is why queer folks almost always vote Democrat: that's the only factor that plays into their life decisions. They also love to put all these labels on themselves, like some sort of contest, and even make-up some.

It's because the media keeps telling us: who we have sex with or what pronouns we use are the most important thing about us, and that nothing else matters. They obviously want to break-down our national identity and make it easier to control us. The first thing you do if you want to control someone is take-away their identity — and the best way to do that is to consolidate it into a single trait before destroying even that.

What is the best way to boycott Mozilla over this? Does Firefox make any money from its users, or is it purely donation-based?

    [–]Trajan 6 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

The number of users may influence sponsorships, although Google will likely continue giving them money as a foil against antitrust claims. Use one of the forks of Firefox.

Google gives mozilla millions of dollars for including their spyware in the browser, it is a lot more than their donations.

Sadly, every non-profit that becomes a corporation will attract parasites looking to drain the life juice from the company and leave a bloated corpse behind after they're done.

Also any image of a park with insufficient bushes is now violent homophobia because gay men might get embarrassed when having illegal public sex. http://imgur.com/a/s7oKjJl

    So misguided.

I wonder why they are focusing on one platform, YouTube specifically, and whether that is actually the most effective media for what they call "radicalizing". Maybe it's the fact that video can show you things that are undeniable, unlike the twisting of words and omission of details from written articles.

Don't trust your own lying eyes, is basically what they're saying.

I really wish someone else would be working on a browser engine. It's just chromium or firefox. Both companies are like ugh! At least Mozzilla is better than google.

and Palemoon and its forks use Goanna. Both were forked from Firefox but I think they're independent now.

Palemoon didn't work very well about 2 years ago.

I really hate its UI/UX but it did everything I asked of it when I used it. I'm required to use Firefox or a Chromium/Chrome for certain purposes(even if other browsers work) so I've given up on it for now. I do know they strip out certain features for security reasons, I don't know all of them off the top of my head.

I have to use Chinese, palemoon can't handle or back then didn't handle Chinese text on linux. I had it for over a year then I uninstalled because firefox was doing what I needed it.

    Can I report mozilla.org?

    [–]PATGUI 5 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

Ok, I was holding on Mozilla for my desktop browser because of the extensions but time to move on. Bunch of faggots.

Problem is it's only google or mozzilla that are making a browser engine. Just using a different GUI on-top of chromium is not using a different browser. I guess their is safari if you want to drink the apple cool aid.

The basic argument is this: there is a movement afoot to harness the power of business for social change. This includes newly-minted foundations like the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, corporate-social-responsibility (CSR) programmes and social entrepreneurs. These philanthrocapitalists are undermining the independence and social mission of civil society. As a result, we are missing out on real social transformation, and maybe even risking our democracy.

Many of the founders fund OpenDemocracy.

The founders of the website have been involved with established media and political activism. It has been funded by the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation among other organisations including the Open Society Foundation the National Endowment for Democracy, the Ford Foundation and Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust.[1]

openDemocracy is owned and published through a non-profit foundation. It has been funded by a number of philanthropic organisations, including George Soros' Open Society Initiative for Europe, the Mott Foundation, Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust, Ford Foundation, David and Elaine Potter Foundation, Lush, Andrew Wainwright Trust and the Network for Social Change.[4]

Lots of neocosn on the board of directors for many of these faux democacy corproations.

The Mozilla Foundation will ultimately control the activities of the Mozilla Corporation and will retain its 100 percent ownership of the new subsidiary. Any profits made by the Mozilla Corporation will be invested back into the Mozilla project. There will be no shareholders, no stock options will be issued and no dividends will be paid. The Mozilla Corporation will not be floating on the stock market and it will be impossible for any company to take over or buy a stake in the subsidiary. The Mozilla Foundation will continue to own the Mozilla trademarks and other intellectual property and will license them to the Mozilla Corporation. The Foundation will also continue to govern the source code repository and control who is allowed to check in.[6]

    Not a bad idea...

When you send a YouTube Regret, the video and recommendations that led you to it are submitted to Mozilla researchers privately.

it's reassuring to know that in the last round of layoffs Mozilla fired some losers who developed a browser or something while managed to keep the most critically important part of Mozilla: purple-haired "researchers" who will sort reported Youtube videos. It would be terrible if they couldn't sustain the staple of Mozilla business - RegretsReporter browser extensions.

I saw a comment once that said something along the lines of "Most people are against hate speech, but the problem is the tools used to suppress hate speech can and will be misused to suppress free speech at some point."

So yikes on this. We really need more browser engines to choose from. I wish mozilla would stay in their lane, focusing on their product, instead of getting political on us.

Learning about conspiracies is bad because ignorance is strength, right?
