  1. Anything happening in any 5-eyes country will eventually happen in all of them.
  2. The "internet", which was invented under a US Government contract, remains national communications infrastructure regardless of how many "private companies" supposedly 'control' it.
  3. Those 'private companies' get to pretend they're private in exchange for exactly the kind of honey-pot, gatekeeping, censorship and party-line propaganda dissemination activities that government can't legally do.
  4. In return nothing will be done as far as 'break-ups' or shutdowns, beyond posturing by Congress and regulatory agencies.
