if they have too much money they use it to bribe politicians into making the system unfair

Yes, as someone who was heavily involved in local politics, you are right. Millionaires play the local scene, and some are trustworthy. Billionaires hire proxies for the state/federal scene, and none of them are trustworthy. Money runs the game folks.

It always has. But I must say this...I actually somewhat prefer that the world be run by a shadowy kabal of billionaires with a long term vested interest in peace and stability than by a series of volatile, ego-driven politicians with a timeline vantagepoint of no more than 8 years.
