Twitter is completely anti-science. There is no good scientific basis for using face masks, it is like a placebo.

The epidemic is almost over anyway, since most countries are reaching herd-immunity. We can see this in the death-rates. And this decline in deaths is the reason why these masks are introduced at this time. The epidemic is about spreading fear and not about saving grandmas.

I spoke with a nurse and he told me that there are no people being treated in my district any more. Yet the news tells us that more tests show a positive. Maybe the tests show old traces of the virus, and this means herd-immunity. Maybe the tests are just failing and give far too much positives, which that the virus is going away rapidly (this happens often during the summer with flue and cold). And maybe it means that the virus is weakened for some reason.

I couldn't find the CDC/NHS article, but the link above covers it pretty well. The science says the mechanistically the masks should reduce spreading, but every test on actual spread has shown no significant change. Basically, aside from quarantining everyone, there isn't a known way of impacting the spread of this sort of virus. What we do know is that medical treatments that improve and regulate the immune response in an infected person will have an impact on how severe the infection becomes.

But some people just don't give a fuck about anyone else but themselves.

Fortunately, the people publishing their studies include their data so we can test it ourselves to see if it is fabricated or not. We don't have to trust that they actually care about us.

I have so far seen nobody not wearing a mask in public, and only one idiot wearing it wrong. Covid still spreads. Masks help reduce transmission of the virus but it doesn't get rid of it.

Keeping schools closed I'd think would be more important, children aren't known for being fastidiously clean. Or pharmacies, that's usually where I get sick from. It's where sick people go. But people need their daycare public schooling and drugs.

The science behind face masks is laughably weak. There is basically no evidence that masks help reduce the spread of respiratory illness. Look through my post history if you wanna see me tear into these pathetic studies.

In Windsor, Ontario, Canada, across the river from Detroit - I RARELY see anyone wearing a mask anywhere except in corporate stores (grocery, Walmart, etc).

Actually there's more than enough evidence in /s/Coronavirus that masks are detrimental to your health and are of no use against viruses. Even the WHO admits it's pointless.

This is your totalitarian government finding out who complies before they unleash their next level shit upon us all.

Children are proven NOT COVID vectors. Sure they're disease ridden rats for everything else. Get informed pal and stop repeating retarded propaganda misinformation.

In my country the opening of the schools made no difference. With no masks.
The tests only gave more positives during the holidays. Probably from tourists. And probably mixed with some false positives from cold/corona-virus or vaccines(against SARS or flue).
