I also suspect on a lot of boards, the mods are employees of companies associated with the subreddit. So they control the narrative. Goes on a lot with the sports boards and fan sites, especially on SB Nation and Reddit. They're way too sanitized to be run by independent people.

Yes, that's true. It happened to my r/youtube post. I complained about the '共匪 scandal' and had an obnoxious corpo-hired jackass accuse me of spreading conspiracy theories - guess what! the 'conspiracy theory' turned out to be true!
